Craft Collective Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
At Craft Collective, located at 4675 Queen Street, Niagara Falls, ON, L2E 2L9, we are committed to protecting the privacy, safety, and security of our members, workshop participants, and digital visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you visit our physical studio, use our website (https://niagaracraftcollective.ca), log into our Member Portal, or shop/sell on our marketplace (craftshops.ca).
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that is strictly necessary to provide you with a high-quality creative environment, safely authorize equipment usage, process financial transactions, and manage our community hubs. This includes:
- Account & Member Profile Data: Name, email address, phone number, physical mailing address, account password, and marketing subscription preferences.
- Studio & Safety Information: Signed studio waivers, minimum age confirmations, and equipment training logs.
- Marketplace & Vendor Data: For eligible members selling on
craftshops.ca, we collect store preferences, item listings, and banking/payout connection details handled securely via Stripe Connect. - Payment Information: Credit card or banking details used for memberships, workshop registration, or marketplace purchases.
- Automated Device Data: IP addresses, browser types, and user behavior data collected via cookies, Google Analytics, and the Facebook Pixel.
- Physical Video Surveillance (CCTV): Video footage captured by security cameras stationed strictly in our public lobby, studio entrances, and common hallways.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate our small business safely and efficiently. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Manage your membership, authorize studio/equipment bookings, and fulfill event ticket purchases.
- Process marketplace sales, coordinate vendor item drop-offs, and issue direct payouts via Stripe Connect.
- Send community updates, event invitations, or promotional materials via our internal email system utilizing AWS SES. All marketing communications are strictly aligned with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and you may opt-out at any time.
- Analyze website performance, optimize local ad campaigns, and improve user experiences using tracking tools like the Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics.
- Maintain the physical safety of our physical premises, protect high-end equipment, and prevent unauthorized entry via our CCTV network.
3. How Data Is Hosted and Shared
We prioritize data minimization and do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only with trusted service providers to run our operations:
- Web Hosting Infrastructure: Our web systems and self-hosted databases are maintained securely on our own account with Web Hosting Canada, ensuring total administrative control over corporate records and profile settings.
- AWS SES (Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service): Used to send transaction receipts, portal setup links, and promotional newsletter mailings.
- Stripe Connect: All payment processing and vendor banking interactions are handled entirely by Stripe. Craft Collective never stores full credit card numbers or raw banking numbers on our own servers.
- Google & Meta (Facebook): Used for analytical tracking and target audience measurement. Please note that our website does not currently feature an automated cookie opt-out banner. If you wish to block behavioral tracking from our Google or Meta integrations, you must configure your web browser settings accordingly or use privacy-focused extensions.
4. Family Programming & Minor Safety
While Craft Collective is designed primarily as an adult creative environment, we occasionally host family-friendly events and community workshops.
- We collect minimal data (limited to name, email address, required age confirmation, and an optional phone number) from individuals under the age of 18 who participate in these specific programs.
- For minors to check into these events or complete equipment usage safety waivers, explicit parental or legal guardian sign-off is strictly required before any data is processed.
- Our digital Member Portal functions purely as a transaction history and account information repository; it contains no public social features, message boards, or communication mechanisms. Because we do not sell memberships or vendor access to minors, individuals under 18 do not have access to paid features or the
craftshops.camarketplace.
5. Your Rights and Access (PIPEDA Compliance)
Under Canadian federal and provincial privacy laws, you hold clear rights regarding your personal data. You have the right to:
- Access & Correct Your Data: You can log into the Member Portal at any time to update your personal details, change communication preferences, or manage your digital storefront.
- Withdraw Consent: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of our emails.
- Request Deletion: You may request the permanent deletion of your account and files, subject to legal, financial, or contractual obligations (such as outstanding marketplace payouts or active safety liability waivers).
To submit a formal data access or deletion request, please use the help (?) feature located inside the portal or contact our team directly.
6. Physical Privacy Boundaries (No-Camera Zones)
To maintain a safe, private, and comfortable environment for all makers, video surveillance is intentionally restricted. No security cameras are present in our private studio rooms, restrooms, changing areas, or the social lounge space.
7. Privacy Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or wish to challenge our compliance with PIPEDA principles, please contact our designated Privacy Officer:
